My great grandfather (Rafael Patkanian) wrote this poem in the late 19c. Lilit Pipoyan graciously lent the project her musical interpretation and performance of the poem. Traditionally its considered a patriotic song: in the country that survived many wars and a genocide, sons primary vocation has been to become soldiers. I dedicate my interpretation to Mothers of all soldiers.
