Course Requirements

The course is an exciting experiment in collaboration. It is team taught by professors from different departments at Brooklyn College and is structured in three “pods,” each of which is taught by a different group of faculty who are experts in that area. You will get the chance to explore documentary across different media, genres, and forms in a series of exercises and small projects in each pod. The course will culminate in a showcase where all students will share their final project for the course. Your grade in the course will be determined by your work in each of these three pods as well as on your final project. Teamwork, a commitment to active engagement with course concepts, and willingness to learn new skills and engage in collaborative thinking are essential requirements. Prior knowledge of documentary or media making is not required or expected, although it is of course welcome.
